BASA Recreational Program

BASA proudly presents both Spring and Fall recreational soccer leagues tailored for youth aged 4 to 15 (based on birthdate). Games take place on Saturdays and Sundays at the Bay Area Soccer Association Soccer Complex, situated on Monitor Rd in Monitor Township.

With thousands of players registering for each season, which spans approximately 8 weeks, our leagues offer a vibrant and inclusive soccer experience. Additionally, BASA hosts numerous soccer camps throughout the summer.

While the majority of our players hail from Bay County, we warmly welcome youth from Midland, Saginaw, and Arenac Counties to join our community.

volunteer opportunities

At BASA, we value the contributions of our families and offer various volunteer opportunities, although participation is not mandatory for player registration. While there are many ways to get involved, our greatest need is for team coaches.

As a coach, you have the flexibility to schedule practices according to your availability and designate the location for your team's activities. Additionally, you'll ensure that your child plays in the area that suits your preferences.

To express our gratitude for your commitment, BASA extends a 50% discount for your players on the subsequent season after coaching. Your willingness to coach greatly streamlines the team-building process, and we encourage early volunteerism to ensure a smooth start to the season.

Join us in shaping the soccer experience for our youth. Your involvement as a coach is invaluable, and we welcome all those interested in volunteering to do so as soon as possible. Remember, having an abundance of coaches ensures a successful season for all.

Please contact the BASA Administrator (BASARegistrar@gmail.com) or the BASA Rec Coordinator (BASARecCo@gmail.com) for more information on volunteer or coaching opportunities at BASA.

Frequently asked questions

How to register for BASA Rec Soccer

We offer an online registration process exclusively. When registration opens, a button will appear on this page for easy access. Late registrations will be waitlisted and accepted only if space permits, subject to a late fee per child. No charges will occur until your child is accepted onto a team.

What age bracket will my child play in?

Since Fall 2016, the USSF has adopted the calendar year (January to December) for age determination. Refer to the chart for details on your player's division.

How are teams formed and coaches selected?

Teams are organized geographically based on your preferred school during registration. Coaches from the same area are crucial for team formation. If a coach is unavailable, players may be relocated to areas with available coaching. Priority is given based on registration order.

How much does it cost to register?

Fees vary by division, with U5-U6 at $85 and U8 and above at $95. BASA jerseys are required but can be reused if they still fit. Check 'Other Equipment' for additional gear needed.

We also have a Travel Soccer Program for the players that are looking for a bigger commitment and different level of competition. Click the link below for more information.

Is financial aid avaialable?

Limited financial aid for registration fees is available upon request via email to registrarBASA@gmail.com. Each player requires one hour of volunteer time in return for aid.

We welcome coach volunteers! Indicate your interest during registration. Coaches set practice schedules for their team and receive a 50% discount for their child's subsequent season.

Please indicate your interest in coaching during the registration process. We will then contact you and let you know the next steps that must be taken in order to coach at BASA.

When and where are practices?

Practice times and locations are determined by coaches. Expect practices to start no earlier than 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday and last anywhere from 30-90 minutes. A list of acceptable practice location can be found at the link below. We are unable to tell you when and where your practices will be held prior to the start of the season.
